Update: UE Red Warriors thwarted the Blue Eagles, 88-68, to force a deciding Game 3 in the UAAP Season 72 championship series Sunday at the Araneta Coliseum. Elmer Espiritu showed the way for the UE with 22 points and four rebounds.

Ateneo vs UE in Game 3 will surely be a war.

The Ateneo Blue Eagles are going for the title as they face the University of the East Warriors in Game 2 of the best of seven series of the UAAP 72 Finals at 3:30PM today at the Araneta Coliseum.

Coming off a victory in game 1, coach Norman Black shows confidence on his players saying that “It’s the story of our team. Even if Rabeh struggles sometimes, other guys pick up the slack. If you look at our team, it’s really good because it makes it more difficult to defend. We never know who’s going to be the guy.”

On the other hand, UE coach Lawrence Chongson have some concerns in order for them to pull off a deciding game 3.

“Our players have to try to taper off their emotions. Sometimes it’s positive, but it can also be a negative thing. They don’t think that much on court, it’s all emotions, all adrenaline. When it flows it’s good. But when it stops flowing, we’re at a stalemate.” Chongson said.
